Common Historic Window Types
Over the past 25+ years, Re-View has manufactured every type of historical window on the market. From Fixed Double Hungs to Radius to Casements, Simulated Divided Light (SDL) to True Divided Light (TDL), Sash with Frames or Sash only, no window is too large and no detail is too small for our team to address.
Most Common Window Types:
Accoya® wood is an acetylated pine that changes the molecular structure of the wood so it doesn’t absorb moisture. This wood has been used in Europe for the past 80+ years and is rated to be more durable than Teak. Accoya has a warranty of 50 years without a finish and is an excellent choice for historic frames and sash.
Sapele Mahogany is a very economical hardwood and displays excellent durability. It is highly resistant to decay and termite attack, making it an excellent wood for exterior windows. It also has a beautiful finish when interior stain is desired.
Additional Wood Species
The interior and exterior finish of a historic wood window is a critical element that will determine the look, performance, and durability of the system. For this reason, we take the finish process very seriously.
Paint & Stain
It all starts with selecting the best paint and stain on the market and Re-View has relationships with the finest finish manufacturers from all over the globe.
Re-View has invested significant resources in its finishing operation at the plant, working with a specialist to design a custom automated paint line to maintain unparalleled quality. The line includes an overhead track, spray booths, and drying oven all designed around our windows.
